🌟 Sterling City Elementary Students Shine at District UIL Contest! 🌟 We are so proud to announce that our elementary UIL team earned second place overall, while winning many team events. The success came from the hard work of 58 students in grades 2nd-5th and the dedication of their coaches. They met multiple days this semester before, during, and after school. A huge, THANK YOU to our students, coaches, and families for your time, effort, and support. Congratulations to all!

On Wednesday this past week, we took our seniors to SeaWorld for a Career Tour! Students got a behind the scenes look at the many careers that keep the park running and had the chance to see so many incredible animals up close including belugas, dolphins, penguins, sea lions, turtles, sharks, and more. They learned a lot, asked great questions, and walked away with an experience they won’t forget. Proud of our seniors for representing us so well!

Please have your children sit with you during the games and remind them: no running in the foyer, no playing with balls inside, and please don’t play around in the bathrooms. When parents stay close, kids stay safe — and everyone can enjoy the game. Of course, we encourage the jr high and high school students to sit in the student section and cheer on our student athletes.

🇺🇸 Veterans Day Appreciation 🇺🇸 Yesterday, our FCS students had the privilege of serving 64 veterans and their family members in honor of Veterans Day. We are proud of our students for their hard work and grateful for the opportunity to show appreciation to those who have bravely served our country. ❤️💙 A special thank you to Mrs. McClure, Carmen Barber and the FCS department for organizing such a meaningful event.

Dear Parents and Guardians, As we begin basketball season, I want to share an important update regarding new Texas legislation (SB 2929) that goes into effect for the 2025–2026 school year. This law strengthens expectations for spectator behavior at all UIL athletic events to help ensure games remain safe, positive, and respectful for everyone involved. Under this new law, game officials may now remove spectators immediately for disruptive or inappropriate behavior — no warning is required. Additionally, if a spectator is asked to leave, the decision is final under Texas law. Schools are permitted only three such incidents before losing the ability to host home officials. We ask for your cooperation in helping us model good sportsmanship and protect the integrity of our programs. Please: Cheer for our players, not against the other team. Treat officials, coaches, and visiting teams with respect. Keep comments and interactions positive at all times. Your support and positive example mean a great deal to our athletes. Together, we can ensure our games are enjoyable experiences that reflect the values of our school and community. Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us make this basketball season one to be proud of.
