The Sterling City FFA Land Evaluation Team of Haylee Jaramillo, Grace Copeland, Paylin Jaramillo and Avea Draggett competed at the state Land Evaluation contest on Thursday. They placed 24th out of 59 team in a tough contest. We are very proud of you and your efforts.

MS/HS students and teachers had an absolute blast this morning with Tattoo a Teacher! From creative designs to lots of laughs, it was a fun and memorable way to start the day. Huge shoutout to everyone who participated and made it such a great time. Our teachers were definitely good sports!

Senior Spotlight: Evan Aguirre

Congratulations to Cason McCrea on being named the Sterling City High School Class of 2026 Salutatorian. He is the son of Ross and Jessica McCrea.
Cason has been a dedicated member of the Sterling City football program for four years. He has been involved in FFA since the 4th grade, consistently competing in Ag Mechanics. During his junior and senior years, he participated in the tractor show, earning Reserve Grand Champion honors as a senior. In addition, Cason showed animals through 4-H during his elementary years. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, where he served as Vice President his senior year. Cason competed in UIL academics during his freshman, sophomore, and junior years and is an active member of the FMC youth group, where he contributes to church related events.
Throughout his high school career, Cason has demonstrated strong leadership, commitment, and a solid work ethic. After graduation, he plans to attend Texas Tech University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business.

Congratulations to Claire Copeland on being named the Sterling City High School Class of 2026 Valedictorian. She is the daughter of Ross and Autumn Copeland. Claire has been actively involved throughout her high school career, serving in National Honor Society as junior year reporter and senior year president, and participating in the Golden Eagle Society, UIL Academics, and Sterling City Cheer for four years. She was also involved in FFA during her freshman and sophomore years. As a junior and senior, Claire served as editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, and during her senior year, she gave back to the program as a Mini Eagle Cheer Coach. Claire has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Following graduation, she plans to attend Texas A&M University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
