The Sterling City FFA Cotton Judging Team competed at the Area II Cotton Classifying Contest, earning an impressive 4th place overall and securing a spot at the State Cotton Classifying Contest, which will be held at Texas Tech University on May 2nd. Here is our Week at a Glance! As we head toward the end of the school year, things are getting very busy on campus. We have a lot of important activities and learning opportunities packed into these final weeks, and we appreciate your continued support in helping your students stay focused and finish strong!

We will also be administering STAAR testing this week. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest each night and comes to school with a full stomach so they are ready to do their best. Thank you for partnering with us to support your student’s success!

Today the Sterling City Land Judging Team of Grace Copland, Haylee Jaramillo, Avea Draggett and Paylin Jaramillo competed at the Area Land Judging Contest at Tarleton State University. They place 8th in Area 2.

All JH students are STAAR testing tomorrow, April 7. Students who want to eat breakfast at school need to do so at 7:15. All JH students will enter the side door of the high school at 7:35; they will not report to the gym for 1st period tomorrow.

We want to send a huge shoutout to our student panel that attended our Community Summit! Your willingness to share your voices, experiences, and perspectives made an impact on everyone in the room. We are so proud of the way you represented our school and community with confidence.

In Mrs. Maxcey’s class, our seniors had an unforgettable hands-on learning experience dissecting a shark! From exploring anatomy up close to making real-world connections, this was a great opportunity to dive deeper into science. We are so proud of these students for staying engaged and making the most of every moment in the classroom.
