Our third, fourth, and fifth graders had a hands-on experience with skulls and furs today thanks to the Texas Wildlife Association. A PowerPoint presentation taught important vocabulary words such as adaptations, camouflage and aposematism. Students were then challenged to find camouflaged animals in pictures. In groups, they were given a skull and used reasonable deduction to determine the skull of common mammals found in Texas. There were plenty of smiles and quality conversations while learning important science skills.

Our 10th grade students had an incredible opportunity to attend the Junior Leadership Forum at Angelo State University! Throughout the day, they heard from inspiring speakers who shared powerful messages about what it means to be a strong leader. Students then broke out into small-group sessions where they participated in hands-on leadership activities.
